All who are interested in building meaningful business relationships, growing networks, and increasing visibility are welcome to join. About the Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network
The Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network (CFBN) launched in 2017 to bring industry players together, to provide a forum for collaboration and support, and to better connect the 4,500 companies in the industry across Chicagoland to drive innovation and growth in the region.

Kane County Recycling Extravaganza Recap
Check out the stats on this year's Recycling Extravaganza
The Annual Kane County Recycling Extravaganza, held in St. Charles on July 14th, served over 900 cars and recycled about 70,000 pounds (35 tons) of material. All of these items which otherwise may have been landfilled, will be reused or recycled:
- 1.5 x (52-foot trailers) of electronic equipment (each truck holds 20,000 pounds of electronics)
- 3 trucks full of confidential documents, shredded (each truck holds 11 - 13,000 pounds of paper)
- 1 large box-truck of paint (910 gallons = 7,700 pounds of paint)
- 1 roll-off dumpster (10,000 pounds estimated) of books (80% recycled, 20% reused)
- 26 bicycles which will be fixed up and redistributed to areas of need in Chicago and globally
- 700+ fluorescent tube lights
- 1 semi-truck full of Styrofoam packaging
- 1,225 pounds of batteries
- 1 box truck of textiles - clothes, shoes and accessories

The zoning code is the most used organizing structure for building cities today. It tells landowners and developers how tall they can build buildings and what kind of use is allowed inside, among other things. But zoning codes have also been fairly controversial because they are sometimes a tool to segregate and separate people and uses, often in unsustainable ways.
As local officials and residents look for ways to build better communities, a more recent innovation has begun to move zoning codes away from a strict prescription of uses and car-based infrastructure and instead focus on the urban form and the spaces between buildings: form-based codes. In this podcast you'll hear an interview with Susan Henderson of PlaceMakers about the use and benefits of form-based codes. She'll also address why people might push back against form-based codes and how to frame conversations about them and their benefits.
